Brief IntroductionHEK293 cell line was first discovered in 1977, derived from human embryonic kidney cells transformed with sheared adenovirus 5 DNA grown in tissue culture. HEK293 has become a model cell line for researches due to its relatively easy maintenance and suitability for various transfection methods. It is now widely used for recombinant protein expression and virus production, and the study of gene function, gene overexpression, or gene knockdown is usually verified in HEK293 cells. In addition, recombinant HEK has also made significant contributions to drug screening, development, and biomanufacturing. Therefore, it is essential to effectively transfer genes into HEK293 for researches.
BOC Sciences HEK293-Transfection Reagent is a unique formulation based on polycationic liposomes of non-animal origin. It is suitable for large-scale transient transfection of HEK293 cells to produce recombinant proteins, monoclonal antibodies, viral particles (AAV, adenovirus, lentivirus), and virus-like particles.
