Brief Introduction | Kidney cancer is the 12th leading cause of death among cancer patients, with more than 338,000 new cases diagnosed yearly. Preclinical cell line models can support the discovery of novel treatments for kidney cancer patients. In 1973, the most primitive HEK293 cells were derived from the aborted human embryo's kidney cells. The human embryonic kidney cells were transformed into human type 5 adenovirus DNA fragments, resulting in the HEK293 cells. The HEK293T/17 cell line is a derivative of the HEK293T cell line. In detail, the HEK293 cell was co-transfected with pBND and pZAP plasmids, as well as the G418-resistant cell line to obtain HEK293T/17 cell line. This cell line not only retains the excellent performance of HEK293T cells but also has the characteristics of high transfection. Thus, the HEK293T/17 cell line can be used as a suitable host for kidney cancer research and kidney-related infection research. In short, HEK293T/17 can be used for various types of molecular and cell biology experimental research related to kidney research. BOC Sciences provides high-efficiency transfection kits for the HEK293T/17 cell line. The 293T/17 Transfection Reagent is a non-animal source liposome-based reagent designed for efficient transfection of small RNA (siRNA, miRNA, shRNA, oligonucleotide) and DNA. The proprietary formulation of lipids and polymers ensures the maximum transfection efficiency and viability of HEK293T/17 cells. |
